TAKE THE BREVAGEN TEST

The BREVAGen test is quick and painless. A doctor simply swabs the inside of your cheek, packages the sample and sends it off to our laboratory. In just 15 working days, the results are sent back to the doctor.

The test is done in two parts:

  • Firstly, you do the Clinical Risk Test to find out your clinical factor risk. This compares your risk of developing breast cancer compared to the USA population. Click to do the Clinical Risk Test

  • Secondly, (through a doctor) we analyse your DNA to find out your genetic make-up.

The combination of the Clinical Risk score and your genetic make-up (markers) score is the BREVAGen result. The final report looks like this. Click for sample report.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE ADMINISTERED BY A DOCTOR?

Only a doctor can order the test. Importantly, a doctor can assess your suitability for the test and help you decide your best course of action, based on your own knowledge and your medical history. The test is currently validated only in Caucasian women of European decent 35 years of age or older and who have not had breast cancer or a previous diagnosis of LCIS or DCIS.

ARRANGE A TEST

If you are ready to take the BREVAGen test, find a doctor who's familiar with BREVAGen.

We are constantly updating our list of clinics. If you can't find a clinic near you, simply let your doctor know about this website and they can order a test kit (no cost involved). We'll send them information on the test and a set of kits. We'll also make sure they're given a proper introduction to BREVAGen and know how to use and interpret the results.

IS THE TEST COST REIMBURSED?

At this time, BREVAGen is not reimbursed through Medicare or through Private Health Insurers.
